I created this for students to research different authors and read their books.  I have a special spot in my classroom for a NEW author every month.  My students complete the Author Study Tic-Tac-Toe once a month (so three activites in a month).  Here is my special "Author Study" spot!

Enjoy!

  3. What a great idea. I love the idea of spotlighting an author/genre/series in an inviting way in the classroom. I'm so glad I found your blog. Just started following :)

  7. I just found your blog...adorable and great ideas! So I am your new follower :) I have a new blog too if you want to check it out...I'd love to have you. Thank you for the author study tic-tac-toe. We do an entire trimester writing unit using Patricia Polocco books as mentor texts. I love it so your tic-tac-toe fits in perfectly. It's very nice to meet you and hopefully we can get to know each other.

  9. Hi Kim,
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm your newest follower. I LOVE this idea. I usually try to do some kind of author study during the year with my 3rd graders. Putting out the books and choices as Work on Writing time is perfect. It also ties into research and reading informational text. THANKS!
